MMO.

Software Engineer

I build web apps and run the servers.

Based in Tunis. Most of my work is full-stack web applications, custom FiveM resources, and Linux VPS setups for small businesses and gaming communities.

About

How I work

I take projects from the database schema through to the Nginx config on the server they run on, which is the part a lot of web developers hand off to someone else. It means one fewer person in the loop. It also means I keep the architecture deliberately boring, because I am the one who has to debug it later.

Services

What I actually get hired for.

Six areas, with a fair bit of overlap between them. Most jobs end up touching two or three at once.

Full-Stack Web Development

Web applications and internal business portals, taken all the way to deployed.

  • Responsive front ends
  • Node.js and REST APIs
  • Relational schema design

FiveM & Game Server Engineering

Custom Lua resources for FiveM roleplay servers, and the framework plumbing around them.

  • QBCore and standalone resources
  • Cutting resource frame cost
  • Player state in MySQL

Desktop Applications

Small desktop tools, usually for a team's own internal use rather than public release.

  • Internal business tools
  • Talking to local hardware
  • Runs without a connection

Workflow Automation

Scripts that take a repetitive job off someone's hands before they make a mistake doing it.

  • Pulling and parsing data
  • Scheduled cron jobs
  • Generated reports

Infrastructure & Networking

Setting up Linux servers, closing off what should not be open, and keeping the rest reachable.

  • Linux administration
  • Nginx proxies and UFW rules
  • Docker containers

API Integration

Getting two systems that were never designed to talk to each other to do exactly that.

  • REST API development
  • Third-party platforms
  • Webhook handling

Credentials

Certificates, and a couple of wins.

Scans of the certificates themselves are below, not just a list of claims.

Certifications

GoMyCode — Game Development

Received June 2021

A project-based game development course, built around shipping something small instead of studying theory.

GoMyCode Game Development certificate

Fiverr — HTML5

Received November 2023

Fiverr's HTML5 skills test. Mostly semantic markup and how things behave across devices.

Verified credential

freeCodeCamp — Responsive Web

Completed November 2023

Milestones

2nd Place, Tunisian Programming Olympiad

Ministry of Education · 2022

Second nationally. What stuck with me from it is that under time pressure a simple correct answer beats a clever one.

Open Source Maintainer

GitHub · Ongoing

Public FiveM resources and utilities that community servers run live. 50+ stars and 20+ forks across the repos so far.
